Young Professionals

Specialist:

“Of course, I’m very familiar with my functional area. However, for digital transformation and digitalization, our company is increasingly demanding broader digital business & AI skills, especially IT skills relating to digital transformation management, big data, data science, machine learning, deep learning, and the Internet of Things … To secure my job and boost my career, I therefore need to broaden my skillset. However, self-study or evening classes will certainly not be enough, but instead I need a Master study program.”

IT manager:

“I have been working in my employer’s IT department for years. However, my responsibilities are now increasingly extending to other areas of the company, as we are digitizing the entire value chain and corresponding processes. I am also involved in the development of digital and AI business models without having any idea about the business side… If I close this knowledge gap, completely new and very attractive career options will open up for me in the context of digitalization. A part-time MBA is the ideal way to prepare for these challenges.”

Career changer:

“I only acquired a few IT and management skills through my university degree. Nevertheless, I have been working on machine learning, data science, and digitalization topics at my employer for some time now. However, this is usually only done with a healthy half-knowledge, which will soon no longer be enough. It would be best to acquire the necessary digital business skills via a part-time MBA program alongside my job, especially as I could then prove my qualification profile with a corresponding Master’s degree. The DMBA at FAU offers a broad repertoire of skills for this.”

Senior Professionals

General Manager:

“The pressure from all sides to face up to the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence and digital transformation is becoming ever greater in our company. Unfortunately, I am only moderately well versed in many of these current topics. To make myself and my business unit fit, I urgently need to upskill myself and/or some of my employees, who unfortunately – if at all – only have a background in business administration, IT or technology.”

Entrepreneur:

“Artificial intelligence and digitalization has started to call my company’s business model into question. I therefore need to think about how I can lead it successfully into the digital future. However, like my employees, I lack state-of-the-art knowledge in the field of IT and management … At the same time, I am currently trying to exploit the opportunities of artificial intelligence and digitalization for myself with a start-up. However, I don’t have the expertise to develop my idea into a sustainably successful digital business and market it via digital channels. The MBA at FAU gives me the tools I need.”

Consultant:

“My customers increasingly want to know from me how they should best deal with artificial intelligence. However, I can’t really give any well-founded answers, let alone offer holistic solutions. For that, I would need knowledge across the entire spectrum from IT to business administration, and law. In-depth insights into topics such as data science, big data and digital business administration are also necessary.”

Graduates

Bachelor graduates:

“After completing my Bachelor’s degree, I now want to get started in practice. Staying at university for another two years is too long for me, even if I had a Master’s degree in my pocket afterwards. At the moment, however, companies seem to be looking for the jack of all trades: Knowledge of business administration, IT and preferably also law, all geared towards digitalization and artificial intelligence. With knowledge in digital transformation management, machine learning, and data science, I certainly wouldn’t be able to save myself from job offers, but to achieve this, I would only consider a part-time Master degree program.”
